Allied Health Services
Kini Health is a not-for-profit company to aid rural communities to access better health services. Kini Health currently provides Allied Health services in the towns of north west NSW which includes Bourke, Brewarrina, Cobar, Enngonia and Weilmoringle. Our clinicians are based in Bourke, Cobar, Sydney and Canberra and do a range of outreach and locally based activities. The main office that coordinates these services is located in Bourke NSW.
"Kini” is a word from the Wangkumarra tribe from north-western NSW and South Australia meaning “strong health”. The Wangkumarra tribe were brought to Brewarrina Mission in the 1950s and many continue to live in the Bourke area.

Occupational Therapy
Kini Health provides a part time service by our OT based in Cobar with outreach to Bourke.
Occupational Therapist’s assists people with an injury, illness or disability to maintain or improve their independence in their everyday life skills. These areas may include self-care tasks, productive and work roles or leisure activities.
An Occupational Therapist can provide services in the areas of
Paediatrics – e.g. developmental milestones, school readiness programmes
Home assessments and modification recommendations
Equipment prescription
Hand and upper limb rehabilitation
Worksite assessments
Dietary/Nutrition Services
Kini Health provides a full time resident Dietetic Service from Bourke with outreach to Cobar, Brewarrina, Enngonia and Weilmoringle.
Dietitians assists people to recognise the link between diet, lifestyle, health conditions and general functioning and wellbeing and to make the best food and drink choices to promote their health and wellbeing.
A Dietitian/Nutritionist works with many conditions including overweight and obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, unintentional weight loss, healthy eating during pregnancy, children's nutrition and much more.
Psychology Services
Kini provides both a part time service to Bourke and Cobar.
A psychologist can assist people with everyday worries to people with serious mental illness such as schizophrenia and depression. Psychology is the study of human behaviour and a psychologist can help people understand why they behave, think or feel the way they do and how this can result in emotional, social or mental problems.
A Psychologist can help with a broad range of issues from worry and tension, mental health problems, relationship or communication hassles, workplace difficulties, trauma or the effects of violent crime, coping with chronic illness or pain as well as proactive skill building in coping and social abilities.
Physiotherapy Services
Kini Health provides a part time service in Bourke with a reident physiotherapist and a fly in fly out physiotherapist.
A Physiotherapist assists with a large range of problems including sports injuries, work related injuries and rehabilitation after stroke, heart attack or an operation.
A Physiotherapist can treat all of the above conditions and and a variety of causes of pain as well as helping to improve your posture or assist you in getting and staying physically fit.
Podiatry Services
Kini Health provides a fly in - fly out service to both Cobar and Brewarrina.
Podiatry assists with a broad range of common lower limb complaints and especially in the outback communities served by Kini the management to complications of diabetes.
A Podiatrist can provide information and treatment for
Lower limb pain or problems
Gait analysis, leg pain, sports injuries and heel spurs
General foot and nail care including corns, warts and callus
Diabetes assessment and related complications
Footwear advice and recommendations including modification and inserts
Lower limb wound care
