Ochre Health took over the Montville practice in July 2012. Extensively renovated in 2008, the centre has three consulting rooms and a minor operations room, Fully computerised – ECG and spirometry and Onsite pathology collection service Tuesday and Thursday morning provided by QML.
Ochre Health Medical Centre Montville has been established with financial assistance from the Australian Federal Government under the Super Clinics program.

Dr Michael Simpson (MBBS, FRACGP) – Medical Coordinator / General Practitioner

Dr Michael Simpson graduated in Medicine at the Queensland University in 1991 with first Class Honours. As a mature aged student, Michael’s previous work experience was with the Commonwealth Bank. During his second year in medicine, Michael and his wife began their family and then in 1992, located to the Sunshine Coast to begin an internship at Nambour Hospital. Michael has remained on the Sunshine Coast and has worked at Caloundra, Mapleton, Montville and Maleny since that time.
Michael has had a great deal of experience in Medicine and at times has been a long term patient which has given him a great insight into his own patient’s experiences. Michael undertook an overseas placement at the Kent and Canterbury Hospitals where he focused on Geriatric Medicine. Michael also works regularly as an examiner for the RACGP.
Within the community, Michael is well known as he has served on many committees, plays the organ in the local church and is the author of several books on Gardening. Michael also likes to play piano and sing in his band at every opportunity.
Dr Jocelyn Eggins (MBBS) – General Practitioner

Dr. Jocelyn Eggins has lived and worked in the Maleny hinterland since moving here in 2002 with her husband and three children.
Jocelyn studied medicine at the University of Queensland and graduated in 1994. She began her career at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane and then moved into General Practice, initially in Brisbane and then later in Maleny and Montville. Jocelyn has a special interest in Skin Cancer Medicine and has obtained a Certificate in Skin Cancer management through the Australasian College of Skin Cancer Medicine, and has undertaken additional studies in advanced dermoscopy.
Jocelyn feels extremely privileged that General Practice allows her to care for families in her community throughout the years in a “from the cradle to the grave” scenario.
Outside of medicine, Jocelyn enjoys snow-boarding with her sons, dance and patchwork with her daughter and hiking, 4-Wheel driving or travel adventures with her husband! However, for true relaxation, Jocelyn feels there is nothing better than reading a good book whilst lying in a hammock at the beach!

Dr Michelle Johnston has lived and worked as a GP in the Sunshine Coast hinterland for 15yrs, after moving from Sydney with her family. She has three teenage and young adult children and enjoys most outdoor activities, especially horse riding.
Michelle is an examiner for the Royal Australian College of GPs and has been a Director of the Sunshine Coast Division of General Practice (now Focus Health) for the past 10 years.
She enjoys the broad range of General Practice care but has a particular interest in child and adolescent, and preventive health.
Dr Stephen Booker (MBBS, FRACGP) – General Practitioner

Dr Booker had a practice for 25 years on the north side of Brisbane, and on semi-retiring, moved to Montville where he joined the practice of Dr Tom Murphy. Through the changes in ownership, Steve has continued to work on a part-time basis at Montville. Steve also works in remote communities and hospitals all around Australia. While the country work is rewarding professionally, he lives in Montville and will be conintuing work here for the foreseeable future. Steve has had a special interest in many areas of medicine over the years including the mental health, acupuncture, chronic headaches, woman’s and children’s health and preventative medicine. He now considers himself a generalist striving to improve the health of people he consults.
Dr Wanyi Yeong (MB BCh, MRCGP, FRACGP, DCH, DRCOG) – General Practitioner

Dr Wanyi Yeong, originally from Singapore moved to Cardiff in the UK in 2000 to study medicine and complete her GP training. Following her training Wanyi has lived in Hamshire, UK until recently moving to Queensland with her husband and two children. When not a work Wanyi enjoys exploring beautiful Queensland with her family and raising her two young children.

Dr Edwin Kruys (MD, FRACGP)

Dr Edwin Kruys is a graduate of the University of Amsterdam. He finished his studies in 2000 and has attained his fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2008.

Dr Sam Manger (MBBS, BSc, FRACGP)

Dr Sam Manger completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and his undergraduate Bachelor of Science (BSc) from the University of Queensland. He is now a General Practitioner with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) where he received an award for the highest score obtained in the fellowship examinations. Sam currently works in Maleny, Montville and Buderim after working in a variety of locations around rural and regional Australia. Sam has a strong focus on lifestyle and nutritional medicine, functional and personalised medicine, public health, medical education and leading edge medical applications. He has a wide variety of extra-curricular passions including martial arts, functional movement, bush survival as well as permaculture, public speaking and is also a national board member on multiple NGO boards. Sam lives locally with his young family, dogs, chickens, cows and the occasional goanna.

Montville is a small town in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, on the Blackall Range in Queensland, Australia, around 400 metres above sea level. At the 2011 census, Montville and the surrounding area had a population of 886.
The town is well served with facilities, including churches, a village green and community hall and a large sportsground featuring a football field, tennis courts and a wood working centre. The Montville State School, founded in 1896, has grown in recent years and now has around 160 pupils.
The town is now a popular short break tourist destination for the people of Brisbane and is famous for its parks and walks including the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk. Popular attractions include galleries, restaurants, wineries, cheese factories and craft and clothing shops. The world-renowned Australia Zoo is a 20 minute drive down the range at nearby Beerwah. Montville is becoming a very popular location for destination weddings at its many resorts, b&bs, wineries and restaurants.
The nearby Baroon Pocket Dam, which provides water for Caloundra and Maroochydore, is also a recreational facility, permitting boating, fishing and picnicking.
There are many places to stay in and around Montville, with accommodation ranging from private cottages to family style units and suites.
