The City

As Australia’s 10th largest city, Wollongong has everything that a big city has to offer, but with the added benefits of a regional, coastal location. There is much to see and do as the city is filled with retail outlets, modern apartments, cafes and restaurants. It takes only a short drive or walk, however, to escape the vibrant hustle and bustle of the city and find a beautiful beach, a cycling or walking track, or a local fishing spot. For the more adventurous there is ample opportunity for activities such as surfing, sailing, paragliding, and skydiving, and for those who like to keep their feet on the ground there is the chance to walk the 6km trail around Mt Keira, a beautiful mountain that overlooks the city, or visit the stunning Nan Tien Temple, the largest Bhuddist temple in the southern hemisphere.
