If the doctors are unavailable, you may contact CALMS (Canberra After Hours Locum Medical Service) on 1300 422 567 for an alternative arrangement. CALMS in an accredited deputising medical service run by Canberra GPs (including your doctor) to provide quality AH cover all over Canberra with adequate feedback to your doctor.

Billing Type
Ochre Health is a mixed billing practice. Bulk billing is available at the discretion of the individual doctor and as a general guide, pensioners (over 65 years of age), health care card holders and children under 16 years can be bulk billed at certain times during the day. Please ask our friendly reception team for more details. Please also note, we have systems in place to process your Medicare rebate claims on the spot.

Dr. Deepica Amarasuriya (MBChB; Dip Obst; FRACGP) – General Practitioner 
Deepica has over 20 years’ experience as a Canberra GP and joined Ochre Health in 2011.
She completed her Bachelor of medicine and Surgery at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She Obtained a Diploma in Obstetrics in 1990 and gained Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 1994.
Specialty interest areas: Women’s health including ante natal and post-natal care, Child health, Oncology and preventative health.

Dr. Ram Vepuri (MBBS, MRCGP, FRACGP) – General Practitioner
Dr Ram Vepuri completed his general practice training in the UK and brings with him a wealth of experience. Ram relocated to Australia to begin work at our Calwell practice in July 2015, following a four year stint within an Emergency Department in England. Ram has extensive knowledge in sports and minor injuries along with orthopaedic experience.
Ram is available full time in Calwell, Monday – Friday. 8:00am-5.30pm and Saturdays 9:00am-12:00pm.
Specialty interest areas: Mental Health, Chronic Diseases, Children’s Health, Sports Injuries and Dermatology

Dr. Deirdre Clink (MBChB, FRNZCGP) – General Practitioner
Dr Deirdre Clink was born in Scotland and emigrated to New Zealand in 1995 and completed her GP Training. In 2012, she moved to Canberra and has since been working full time, Monday to Friday.
Dr Clink enjoys all aspects of general practice but particularly enjoys managing chronic diseases, as well as women’s health. Outside of the practice, she likes music and painting.
Specialty interest areas: Chronic Disease Management & Women’s Health.

Dr. Nicola Murphy (BMBS) – General Practitioner
Dr Nicola Murphy completed her Medical Degree from Flinders University in Adelaide. She then finished her GP Training in Canberra and joined the team in Calwell from February 2017.
Specialty interest areas: All Aspects of General Practice especially Women’s Health.

Dr Raya Al Suhel (MBChiB, AMC, DOG, DcH, DRANZCOG) – General Practitioner Registrar
Dr Al Suhel initially trained as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and worked within this field for a number of years and through several different hospitals before deciding on a change of direction towards general practice. In her spare time, Raya enjoys music, sport, dancing, travelling, gardening, and design.
Specialty interest areas: Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Children’s Health, Mental Health

Dr Ravneet Kaur (MBBS) – General Practitioner Registrar
Dr Kaur completed her MBBS from the University of Western Sydney, which was followed by her internship and residency at Concord Hospital. Ravneet then commenced her GP training in Canberra and enjoys the diversity of General Practice. Dr Kaur loves travelling.
Specialty interest areas: All areas of Medicine
Dr Kaur will be working full time.

Dr Sheahan Ranasinghe (MBBS, FRACGP) – General Practitioner
Dr Sheahan Ranasinghe graduated from the university of Liverpool in the UK in 2000. He has since had extensive training in emergency medicine over the past 18 years. Dr Ranasinghe became a GP after completing his general practice training in the UK in 2008.
He immigrated to Australia and has since been working as a GP as well as in hospital medicine over the past 10 years. His aim is to provide the highest standard of holistic medical care and compassion for his patients and their families.
Specialty interest areas: child health, trauma, chronic complex diseases, elderly medicine, men’s health, skin cancer and minor operative procedures

Calwell is a suburb of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, and is about 17 kms from ACT’s capital city of Canberra. In the 2011 Census the population of Calwell was 5,833. The suburb was named after the Labor politician, Arthur Augustus Calwell, PC (1896-1973). The suburb name was gazetted 5 August 1975.
