Overview
Ochre Medical Centre Bonnells Bay has been part of the Lake Macquarie community for over 25 years. Started as Bonnells Bay Surgery in 1991 and joining Ochre Health in July 2019, the practice prides itself on delivering high quality care and service to patients.  It usually has 3-5 doctors working at one time, a Cardiologist with an echocardiogram service, a Clinical Psychologist, a Counsellor, a Podiatrist, a Dietitian, a Physiotherapist, a Exercise Physiologist and an Audiologist.

Monday to Friday 8:00am – 6:00pm
Saturday Saturday 8am – 12pm noon
Closed Sundays & Public Holidays.

Billing Type
Ochre Medical Centre Bonnells Bay is a mixed billing practice. Bulk billing is available at the discretion of the individual doctor. As a general guide, pensioners (over 65 years of age), health care card holders and children under 16 years are generally bulk billed. Please ask our friendly reception team for more details. Please also note that we have systems in place to process your Medicare rebate claims on the spot.

Dr Clare Van Rooy
Dr Van Rooy graduated from Sydney University in 1984 and did her post-graduate training in Canberra. She holds Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and is a Quality Assurance Examiner for the RACGP.
Dr Van Rooy’s interests include gynaecology, menopause, and geriatrics.

Dr Mark Peterson
Dr Peterson graduated from Newcastle University in 1984. He holds a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), a Masters in Family Medicine from Monash University and a Certificate in Aviation Medicine. He is a Quality Assurance Examiner for the RACGP and a member of the Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine.
Dr Peterson’s interests are surgery, paediatrics and emergencies.

Dr Stella Rumsey
Dr Rumsey graduated from Adelaide University in 1989 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in February 1996. She subsequently completed a Graduate Certificate in Quality Improvement in Health Care through the University of Newcastle.
Dr Rumsey’s special interests are preventative health care and aged care.

Dr Angela Lewis
Dr Lewis graduated from the University of NSW in 2008.   She has a Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).  From Newcastle originally, she has worked in Sydney, Port Macquarie, Launceston and Charlestown.
Dr Lewis has a special interest in shared antenatal care.

Dr Simon McCluskey
Dr McCluskey graduated from the University of NSW in 2009.  He completed his internship in Launceston in Tasmania, and then his residency in the John Hunter Hospital network.  He holds a Diploma in Child Health and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).
Dr McCluskey’s interests include paediatrics and a broad range of general practice presentations.

Dr Renata Fuljahn (GP Registrar)
Dr Fuljahn graduated from Marilia Medical School in Brazil in 2002 and she worked as a General Practitioner in that country for two years.  Having moved to Australia, she was awarded a scholarship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and she worked for two years at Gosford and Wyong Hospitals.  She holds a Certificate for Family Planning and Sexual Health.
Dr Fuljahn’s special interest is women’s health.

Dr Shuen Yeoh
Dr Yeoh graduated from University of Queensland in 2010.  On completion of her internship and residency in Queensland, she worked at John Hunter Hospital, and she now enjoys the breadth and variety of general practice.  She holds a Certificate of Family Planning and Sexual Health and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).
Dr Yeoh’s special interests include women’s health, paediatrics and adolescent health.

Dr Adam Moody
Dr Moody graduated from University of Sydney and holds Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).
Dr Moody’s special interests are chronic disease, preventative health, men’s health and geriatric medicine.

Dr Georgina Girdler  (GP Registrar)
Dr Girdler graduated from Wollongong University in 2015 and moved to Newcastle for her internship and residency.  She completed a Diploma in Child Health in 2017, an advanced skills year in obstetrics and gynaecology in 2018 and then a Diploma of Obstetrics (DRANZCOG) in 2018/19.
Dr Girdler’s interests include women’s and children’s health.
