Bulk billing is available to: concession card holders, DVA gold card holders and children under 16. Exceptions apply to visitors and new patients. Please ask our friendly team for more details. We also offer Medicare Easyclaim which enables us to process your Medicare rebate.

Practice Manager

Dr Natalie Burch – General Practitioner
Dr Burch lived and worked in rural areas of Queensland prior to moving to Tasmania. She is our longest practicing GP; having worked at our surgery for 14 years. Dr Burch completed her training at the University of Queensland. She has a special interest in chronic pain, emergency medicine and medical education.  Outside of the office Dr Burch enjoys spending time with her family and playing her violin.

Dr Burch is not currently accepting new patients.

Dr Samantha Cassidy (MBBS, FRACGP, ACCRM) – General Practitioner
Dr Samantha Cassidy completed her medical studies at the University of Tasmania, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine in 2013. Between 2014 and 2015, Samantha interned and spent her residency years at Launceston General Hospital. In the following year, she completed her GP registrar training at Scottsdale Doctors Surgery and Launceston Medical Centre. The Tasmanian native also obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2018 and spent a year doing locum work across Australia’s Eastern Seaboard, including in the cities of Brisbane and Cairns. Samantha is thrilled to be returning to Scottsdale, as she is looking forward to reconnecting with her past patients and building relationships with new ones. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, hiking, running and, most recently, becoming a mother.

Speciality interest areas: children’s health, women’s health, dermatology.

Dr Catherine Browne (MBBS, FRACGP, DCH) – General Practitioner
Dr Catherine Browne completed her medical degree at the University of Tasmania, going on to finish her internship at the Launceston General Hospital in 1986. Following this, she commenced her residency at St George Hospital, followed by a paediatric residency at Prince Of Wales Children’s Hospital.

Dr Browne spent some time travelling through India and Asia before arriving in the UK in 1989, where she worked for 18 months in Paediatrics. Upon arriving back in Australia, she returned to work at the Prince Of Wales Hospital as a Paediatric Registrar before commencing her GP training in 1993. In 2002, she took on ownership of Gasworks Medical Practice in Newstead, QLD. During this time, she also worked part-time in an adolescent drug and alcohol unit and in refugee health.

In 2020, Dr Browne returned to Tasmania, settling in Scottsdale and joining the Ochre network at Ochre Medical Centre Scottsdale. In her spare time, Dr Browne enjoys gardening, sailing and cooking.

Physiotherapy – Bass Coastal Physiotherapy

A physiotherapist consults on Mondays at Ochre Medical Centre Bridport and Thursdays at the Ochre Medical Centre Scottsdale.

This physiotherapy service is provided by Daleen Nel from Bass Coastal Physiotherapy. No GP referral is required. However, eligible persons can access subsidised visit fees under the Enhanced Primary Care Program.
