Specialty interest areas: Emergency Medicine and Airway and Rural Medicine

Tucked away in the Central West region of New South Wales, lies Condobolin (commonly referred to as ‘Condo’), a riverside country town founded in 1859. Located at the junction of Lachlan River and Goobang Creek, the town previously functioned as a river-crossing for drovers. Today, this hospitable rural township is the largest in the state’s central region, and is home to approximately 3,500 people.

Agriculture fuels Condobolin, its main exports being wheat, barley, canola, wool, cotton, and livestock. There’s much to see and do in the area, popular activities include: four-wheel driving in the stunning wide open spaces that surround the town; picnicking and playing at Gum Bend Lake, a manmade lake specifically designed for watersports; learning about the fascinating Aboriginal history of the area at the Wiradjuri Study Centre; and climbing Mt Tilga, a peak regarded by many as the geographical heart of New South Wales, which offers spectacular views of the vast Australian countryside.

The annual Condobolin Agricultural Show is a well-liked and lively event, where locals and visitors come to enjoy the family friendly atmosphere, along with agricultural displays, exhibitions, and competitions. Condobolin is the place to be if you want to experience the natural beauty of the Australian outback, get to know the agricultural community that is so vital to Australia, and learn about Aboriginal culture.
