Lancefield – Lead GP

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced General Practitioner to be Lead GP/Medical Coordinator at our bustling practice in Lancefield, Victoria.

Ochre Lancefield Country Practice is a mixed billing practice offering a wide range of services including general family medical care, ante-natal checks, immunisations, emergency care, patient stabilisation prior to transfer, and the development of care plans for chronic or complex issues. You will have full access to our nursing team while working alongside an experienced Practice Manager and administration team who will manage your appointments and ensure your days run smoothly.

As the Lead GP, you will bring to the Medical Centre clinical leadership, a collaborative approach, a proactive attitude, and the ability to build and develop a strong team culture.

The Location

Lancefield is a charming country town situated at the heart of one of rural Victoria’s most celebrated agricultural regions. Located 70 km to the north of Melbourne and just a half an hour’s drive from Melbourne International Airport at Tullamarine, Lancefield is supremely situated to enjoy life with a foot in both worlds – the convenience and opportunity offered by living a short distance from a major city, and the laid-back, bucolic lifestyle of true rural living.

Lancefield has a lively retail strip, with shops offering an array of interesting and attractive antiques, books, gifts, and artwork. The town also boasts fine cool-climate produce that can be sampled and purchased at the popular monthly farmers’ market, where organic delicacies such as honey, olive oil, fruits, veggies, and meats are in plentiful supply. Award-winning chardonnays and pinots can also be sampled in town, or on a weekend tour of the local wineries and vineyards. Lancefield’s quiet country charm, several great public and private schools, friendly locals, and rich, vibrant culture make it the perfect place to visit or relocate for anyone wanting to get away from the hubbub of the big city.
