Canberra Region – VR General Practitioner opportunities

The Opportunity

Ochre Health are currently accepting Expressions of Interest from experienced and capable General Practitioners interested in partnering with Ochre, in order to further grow our presence whilst promoting and improving healthcare in the communities we operate in.

Ochre Health recently opened their sixth medical centre in the ACT, Ochre Medical Centre Kippax, in the suburb of Holt. Kippax joins Ochre’s other ACT locations in Bruce, Calwell, Casey, Garran and Kingston, building on an already strong footprint in and around the capital. With a number of vacancies currently available at multiple locations, this is a great opportunity to join one of Australia’s premier healthcare providers.

The Location

Located in the New South Wales hinterland, the Australian Capital Territory’s Canberra stands alone among Australia’s cities for its lush garden-city inspired boulevards and geometric design motifs. Designed by celebrated American architects Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin, the city’s layout makes it one of Australia’s most livable places.

Known as a “twenty minute city”, Canberra’s relative lack of congestion and abundance of public transport options makes commuting a painless affair. The education offerings include a broad range of both public and private schools that are highly regarded, and Canberra boasts an above average number of excellent tertiary institutions including The University of Canberra, the Australian Institute of Sport and the Australian National University among others. Canberra also offers a strong active lifestyle – the wide and meandering Lake Burley Griffin is used heavily for rowing and boating, and the many car-free avenues and parks make it friendlier than most cities to bike traffic.

Ochre Health’s locations cover a range of regions in the greater Canberra area, from the historic central district of Kingston to rapidly growing emerging suburbs such as Casey.
